Square Enix reported that they shipped 80,908 units of the Final
Fantasy XI Add-on package to stores this past Thursday. Sources confirmed
for us that the game package was sold out within its first day of release.
This was a suprise to many, seeing that the original Final Fantasy XI only
sold around 70,000 copies in its first day of release. Note, that the
units sold were considered as an all in one package, consisting of the
original Final Fantasy XI game, the PlayOnline viewer, and the actual
add-on. No one is sure as to when the next shipment will arrive, however,
one Japanese store commented that it could come in around 19 days. The
game package was said to cost a total of 6980 yen
